Vidhyalakshmi Acharya

Vidhya obtained her undergraduate and master’s degree in Biotechnology from University of Mysore, India. Her strong research interests during college led her to pursue a variety of projects in fields ranging from molecular oncology to evolutionary history and DNA studies of indigenous ethnic communities. She then spent one year at the Simons Centre for the Study of Living Machines, NCBS Bangalore, involved in experimental evolution studies of multicellularity and investigating cellular responses to extreme environmental fluctuations honing a multidisciplinary approach to solve the biological questions. Her current focus area is investigating the dynamics and mechanics of the bile canaliculi formation during liver development.
